With the heavy winds earlier this week the red-tailed hawks and bald eagles are moving in large numbers. The giant low pressure system is rotating counter-clockwise over a large chunk of the Midwest which has pulled down hundreds of birds from a wide area of the central Plains. It was easy to spot the birds because of their large size but they also are the only birds stealthy enough to be up in these kinds of wind speeds.
