Summer Day Camp!

The YMCA is excited and getting ready for this year’s camping season!

This year’s day camp for youth ages 6 to 12 serves the Ames and Boone communities. Day camp is every week from June 13^th to August 19^th. Campers get the camping experience without staying overnight; it’s a great alternative to day care. Campers build character though fun learning and a better understanding of values; including caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. All Y - Camp activities are centered with songs, laughter, new skills, new friends and character building! Campers will also participate in YMCA swim lessons 4 times a week! Day camp is a great way to provide a safe, fun, character and relationship building experience for your child!

Specialty Camps

In addition to Day Camp, YMCA is excited to offer Specialty Day Camps. Campers spend their mornings in the specialty area and afternoon in traditional program areas.

Swim lessons are not available for campers in Specialty camps.

Specialty Camp Fees: $148 YMCA Member / $173 Program Participant

Rope and Rock Camp  (June 20-24 / July 11-15)   Ages 10-12

Campers learn the new exciting skill of climbing! 

Nature Camp (August 8-12)  Ages 9-12

Campers study, learn, and observe nature with a professional naturalist!

Guitar Idol (July 25-29)  Ages 10-12

Campers learn the basic chords and by the end of the week

play a camp song, bring your own guitar or play one of the camps!

Art-Rageous (July 11-15)  Ages 9-12  

Campers get in touch with and express their artistic sides through art projects!
